Duplex Steel Round Bar

Duplex Steel Round Bar is an alloy of both Ferritic and Austenitic grades, offering a combination of both corrosion resistance and strength. It is composed of 19-28% chromium, up to 5% molybdenum, and lower nickel content compared to that of austenitic stainless steel varieties. The most popular variations include the 2205 (22% chromium, 5% nickel) and 2507 (25% chromium, 7% nickel); the latter being known as ''super duplex'' because it offers greater protection against corrosion.

Thanks to its dual-phase microstructure, Duplex Steel Round Bar has unparalleled strength when compared to other standard grades like ferritic or austenitic stainless steel. This makes it ideal for applications such as pressure vessel walls and tanks that require superior mechanical properties. Additionally, its high tensile strength enables it to withstand heavier loads than other alloys in the market. In addition to this, Duplex grades have good weldability which can be further enhanced with proper heat treatment.
